Place Value

In Year Five children should have a good grasp of thousands, hundreds, tens, units, tenths and hundredths and they will now become familiar with hundred thousands. They should also be aware of the equivalent values of these numbers (eg 10 x 10 = 100, or 10 x 100 = 1,000) and also be able to write numbers using both words and digits.
